How to encourage workers to report their experiences

Labor Unions play a crucial role in ensuring safe workplaces by advocating for the rights and safety of workers. Their involvement is essential in creating and maintaining environments free from violence and harassment. Therefore, raising their awareness and deepening their understanding of ILO Convention No. 190 on Violence and Harassment is vital. This knowledge equips them to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.

Moreover, labor unions can collaborate closely with employers to foster an environment where workers feel encouraged to report grievances. During the training, we developed several strategies to support unions in this effort. By working together, unions and employers can create a more responsive and supportive workplace culture, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and appropriately. As an example of their engagement, by the end of the training, they have come up with 70 ideas that labour unions can implement to encourage workers to report!
